Highway Co-pilot

Strange it seems to think
A chain of dive diners and yet one so unique
For all the booths frequented and memories made
Only one sticks out most in my mind for which my heart strayed

Lost and found in common place
Truck stop slumbering next door to a dream come true
Homeless beside heartache, for love and belonging
Whether at a diner or car ride karaoke
Anywhere is home when I'm with you

We made up the magic as we went
From broke and broken to something God sent
Next door neighbors of employment
Our bond forged in and out of the establishment

How I think of how this began
Who might've known where we would be now
Learning to live all over again
In love evermore, we find our way somehow

More than mere enchantment
But the substance we find through every trial
Truck-stop hybrid to nourishment
On this road called life, you're my rest stop at every mile...
